In the meantime, I'd better set the creepy aliens aside and get to work on the crime/thriller. The term FINAL DRAFT is a little scary-- after all, it means this draft has to be perfect. But when I'm completely finished and I sit back and stare at THE END on the final page ... how cool will that be?
First and foremost, I need to finish the final draft of my crime/thriller so I can self-publish/print-on-demand soon. I also need to add some more chapters to the second crime/thriller. You know ... NAILS, posted here on my blog. So naturally I've been working on my sci-fi book instead. If you're a writer, you know how it is. I just picked up the dusty old manuscript and glanced through a few pages. I didn't mean to get drawn in. It's huge! It's epic! It's ... first draft. And thus way too talky, descriptive, convoluted. Not only first draft, in fact, but the very first manuscript I ever wrote. So much needs to be scrapped. Yet I know there's some very cool stuff in there. Someday you may pick it up off a shelf in a bookstore or a library. Or by the time I finish a final draft and get it published, perhaps you'll order your personal robot to download a digital copy from the hotel gift shop while you're on your Mars vacation. Ahhh, but what enjoyment you'll have then, reading it on your Kindle 2035!

That will be very cool, Nik! I understand where you're coming from and I so relate to being tugged from one love to another (MSS to another is what I mean LOL) It's hard to choose on a day to day basis. Just when you figure out which one will get your attention, your heart pulls you in another direction.
